Alright Gents, here it is….

2025: Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

This will not be easy. There will be some long, hard, and grueling days. Altitude sickness can happen and on top of it all - it will cost a pretty penny.

If you read all that, and still want to climb the highest mountain in Africa - come with me and summit (19,341 feet) Mt. Kilimanjaro!

***MAY UPDATE***

Hey Gents!

We are now 8 months out!!

If you haven’t sent in your deposit you can do so here: https://www.climbing-kilimanjaro.com/book-your-kili-adventure/

$867 is the deposit amount.

HOWEVER, if you pay with a credit card there is a 4% service fee.

Making the deposit total: $901.68

You can email our contact, Brian Raffio (brian@climbing-kilimanjaro.com) if you want to wire the deposit instead and if you have any questions.

I would like to eventually have a group email with him, and with our group, once we have all our deposits in.

PLEASE budget and remember we still have the rest of the trip to pay off + Flights + Visa Fee + Emergency Climbing Insurance + Tips to our Guides.

I’m tentatively budgeting and breaking it down as this:

DEPOSIT: $901.68 ($867)

PAYOFF THE REST OF THE TOUR: $2,023 (or $2,103.92 with that 4% service fee)

FLIGHTS: Around $1100-$1500 (from what I’ve seen out from the DC area)

INSURANCE: $500-700

VISA: $100

TIPS: $500-600

Budget for other personal expenses as well.

If you want more information on the route here it is again: https://www.climbing-kilimanjaro.com/lemosho-route-8-days/

I’m starting to run again and building up my endurance.

Will probably train harder 6 months out!

But more information on that later.

Ok guys hope all is well!

It’s getting closer! 😬 Let’s f-ing do this!!

Talk to you all soon.

Best,

-Christian

First some quick questions to answer:

Where is Mount Kilimanjaro?

It is located in Tanzania, Africa.

How much is the trip?

$2,890 for porters, gear, food, park fees, transportation, guides, etc. Does not include: VISA, Tips for the guides, flights, vaccinations, travel insurance (mandatory), and any personal gear/items you want to bring/get.

A deposit of $867 can be paid here: https://www.climbing-kilimanjaro.com/book-your-kili-adventure/

to lock-in your spot! Please tex/call/message me when you pay your deposit.

Total cost estimated?

Just from my back of the napkin math, looking between $4,000 - $5,000 (flights being the other big expense)

When?

February 28 - March 9, 2025!

How do I pay?

https://www.climbing-kilimanjaro.com/book-your-kili-adventure/

Do I need to train?

Yes. 19,000+ feet is no joke. Altitude sickness is no joke. You will probably have to get in one of the best cardio shapes of your life. Please train and prepare. I want the best chance of everyone in our group to summit!

Who is invited? How many of us?

I am inviting all of my Groomsmen, some Framily Guys, and some other guys who I think can accomplish this climb. I’m keeping this trip a guys only adventure (sorry ladies). I’m guessing 5-10 people will commit.

Which route are we climbing?

After all my reading, I really like the Lemosho Route - 8 day Trek. It gives us enough time to acclimate, beautiful scenic views, and the best results to summit. The Machame route is my second choice.
